One largely discussed issue of Conwy is methods to fix arrow spam. The most common suggestion to fix this issue is to set the draw time to half-draw. However, people argue that arrow spam is a legitimate strategy (which it is not because it is essentially the same as reach hacking) and that archer is too weak in close quarters without the arrowspamability.
While the archer is a mid-range to long-range class, the latter argument is, in fact, true.
However! I do not plan to strengthen its close quarters abilities. Instead, I suggest that the long-range capabilities are buffed. To accomplish this, I have two somewhat similar ideas (both will increase drawback to one half):
>>Increased damage at the expense of one-half draw: the damage done by one arrow will be increase, but the draw time will be set to one half. This will still mean that a skilled dodger will be able to dodge some of the projectiles, although failing to do so will be more punishing.
>>Partially increased damage and velocity at the expense of one-half draw: the damage done by one arrow will be slighly increase, and the velocity of the arrows will also be upped partially, but the draw time will be set to one half. This means That the arrows will be somewhat harder to dodge, but the DPS will be lower than that of the first option, and there will be a change in the learning curve (trajectory physics pun?).
>>One-half draw: The most common suggestion, but I fail to see this being successful.
>>Knockback is null under half draw: This is a variation of the previous one, but will still allow archers to arrow spam. However, this may not be codeable.
>>Penalize arrow spammers: I have no clue how this will work, but it's an idea.
>>Introduce cooldown: a cooldown timer of half a second or a full second between shots. If the timer is a full second long, the draw speed will be quicker.
More options may be added later.
